Tina grew up on Mercer Island, graduated from Mercer Island High School, and then from WSU in 1982. She met Joe, another Coug, in their senior year. Two years later in 1983, they tied the knot. They explored the wineries of Washington, Oregon, and California during the mid 1980s when there were fewer than fifty wineries in Washington, less in Oregon, and California was well ahead of both. They worked part-time at seven Washington wineries from 1985 - 1993. In 1988, they decided they would open a wine bar. In 2018, they did it. Thirty seven years of exploring wines from all over the world has led to the opening of "barrels...experience wine!" Come on in and pop a cork!

Occasionally we get a visit from terrific wineries and winemakers who come by to taste their wines with us. There were a number of Desperate Housewives, Portlandians, and those searching for Sex in the City (fans) who would have liked to have been tasting with "pursued by bear." Thanks Kyle!
We have over 1000 bottles from approximately 200 wineries, and we are still expanding the bottle and glass pour list. We have nearly 40 glass pours available every day, and hundreds of bottles that you can buy to take home or pop the cork here and enjoy it with one of our small plates. Using our Coravins, we are able to taste certain bottles without oxidizing the wine. Our glass pours are listed below. We start with our in house white wines. The rosés, reds, sparklings and ports follow.
